About This Role / Role Overview
The Electrical Maintanance Engineer is a core operational position at BrighterMonday Consulting, responsible for executing strategic responsibilities, maintaining high quality standards, and driving organizational success in Kampala. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, implement industry best practices, and contribute directly to the long-term mission and growth objectives of BrighterMonday Consulting.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- •Design, build, test, and maintain robust, scalable software applications and technology infrastructure for BrighterMonday Consulting.
- •Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network connectivity, and operating system issues for end-users across Uganda.
- •Implement stringent cybersecurity safeguards, data encryption standards, access control policies, and system backup protocols.
- •Collaborate with product managers and business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into high-performance technical specifications.
- •Administer cloud infrastructure, database servers, API integrations, and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- •Conduct regular vulnerability audits, software patch deployments, and performance optimization benchmarking.
- •Develop comprehensive technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and user troubleshooting manuals.
- •Evaluate emerging technologies and digital tools to enhance organizational operational efficiency and digital transformation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- ✓Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
- ✓At least 2 to 5 years of professional experience in software development, systems administration, or IT support.
- ✓Hands-on proficiency with modern programming languages, database systems (SQL/NoSQL), and cloud architectures.
- ✓Practical knowledge of network security, firewall configuration, data protection protocols, and disaster recovery planning.
- ✓Strong analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex system incidents independently.
- ✓Industry certifications (such as Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Security+, AWS, Microsoft Certified, or ITIL) are highly advantageous.
